Starfield was SO close to being a masterpiece, and after 250 mods and 40+ hours, I genuinely believe the game Bethesda should’ve shipped already exists. It’s just not the one they sold us. Here’s everything modders have fixed, what’s still broken, and why I think Starfield deserves a second chance in 2026… with mods.
We’re talking real fuel systems, working cargo bays, crew that lives on your ship, immersive landing ramps, ballistics reworks, a working economy, fleet combat, survival needs, and yes — even the bathroom mod. This is the RimWorld-in-space experience Bethesda almost gave us.
If you’ve already written Starfield off, give this one a watch before you decide. I was shocked at how much fun I had.
